whee haven't had much time this week.. been doing other stuff such as messing with my new weights and stuff that I just bought.. plan to train for a couple of months and then start doing freestyle jiu jitsu at place I used to go to. Gonna be hard work but I want to be in shape before I go there rather than having to play a gut-wrenching catch up game with a bunch of people who've done it for ages.. May even start Lau Gar Kung Fu again if I can get a job on sundays and not saturdays.. got my eye on a sweet uniform for it which just looks waay better than the one I used to wear while I was there. Really fancy learning nunchaku again in ju jitsu though so thats the one im restarting first!
Anyways.. today I've been drawing a lot of hands.. yes thats right hands, and quite quickly too for me.. taken to sketching a lot more and I've actually for the first time learnt how to draw the outline quickly and then work from it.. its made me sooo much faster, and it looks way better to boot. Before I would tend to draw each piece reasonably accurately and join other pieces on bit by bit, then fleshing it in a bit more and itd take me ages to get something that looked remotely right because I'd keep erasing and redrawing pieces. With all of the hands I drew I only used the eraser about ten times in all which for me is amazing.
I understand what they say about drawing getting addictive now. It's really enjoyable when you do something you're happy with. On a side note, the top left hand in the first hands work I submitted is my attempt at following a polykarbon tutorial. I didn't like how it turned out so I completely threw the guys concepts out the window and drew from scratch, just drawing the hand sketchily and workign in the detail in a slightly similar way. No proportion lines though. I think I may need to use proportion lines in some cases however as especially with the flat face down hand in hands 3 its a bit stubbier than it should be. I noticed it wasn't quite right while drawing it though I just assumed itd sort itself out a bit better than it did while fleshing out the details. Oh well back to the drawing board, think I'm gonna draw some more hands now.. once I can draw hands in correct proportion in numerous positions then I will start working on faces, then bodies and then the WORLD!!! What a cunning plan!
Thanks for reading

A little about me:
Got painter 8 the other day, but haven't really used it much! Can't find out how to use the damn thing. I'm going to have a look at the user guide I found on the corel site after I write this and maybe start drawing a few things. Its surprising how few tutorials there are on beginning to use painter.. when I've learnt it I think I'll have to write some for other people to use.
I need a job. Think I might apply at tescos again where I've worked before for a year, because of sheer convenience of the hours working around my college hours and other commitments..
Anyhoo i love your gallery, it totally rocks and i love all the hand sketches etc, keep it up
